During the meeting in Azerbaijan's capital on Tuesday, Jahangirzadeh and Bayramov explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating mutual cooeration in political and economic fields.
During the meeting, Bayramov expressed his satisfaction with the development of friendly ties and cooperation between Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic based on mutual respect and historical friendship.
Turning to the cooperation between the two countries in regional and multilateral issues and relations, the Azeri foreign minister hailed the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which is based on international law and support of territorial integrity of countries.
Bayramov also appreciated Iran’s fair stance with regard to the recent conflicts between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Iranian envoy, for his part, pointed to the friendly relations between the two countries, and said that the two countries' capacities should be used for the development of bilateral relations.
In relevant remarks on Sunday, President’s Chief of Staff Mahmoud Vaezi said that Iran enjoys positive and growing relations with Azerbaijan Republic, and noted that efforts should be made to further strengthen bilateral ties.
"Amid global coronavirus outbreak, we should make more efforts to increase Tehran-Baku relations in line with common interests." Vaezi said in a phone contact with Azeri President’s Foreign Policy Adviser.
The official noted that cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic is a good model of constructive relations between the regional nations.
