Tehran University Calls for Establishing Joint Anti-Coronavirus Committee with Russia
TEHRAN (FNA)- Chancellor of Tehran University Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi underlined the need to set up a joint committee between the Iranian and Russian universities to exchange experiences in the combat against coronavirus.

Nili made the remarks in the fifth session of the Iranian and Russian top universities held online late on Tuesday.

 He said that the joint meeting of Iran and Russia has increased the information about the capabilities of the two countries.

Nili stressed that today the world is in need of science more than ever.

The two countries have cooperated in the field of Farsi and Russian languages, but we should develop mutual cooperation further chancellor of Tehran University said.

In relevant remarks in July 2019, Iranian Vice President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari and Senior Assistant of the Russian President in Science and Technology Andrei Fursenko, in a meeting in Moscow voiced their countries' resolution to broaden bilateral cooperation in the fields of science and technology.

During the meeting, Sattari and Fursenko emphasized the growing trend of Iran-Russia cooperation in the fields of science and technology and explored ways for developing bilateral cooperation in these fields.

"Fortunately, cooperation between the two countries in the field of technology is developing rapidly, and with the implementation of the bilateral agreements and we will witness a significant leap in this area," said Sattari, referring to deep-seated relations between Iran and Russia in all areas. 

He said that science and technology are driving economic, industrial, agricultural and medical development, adding that the expansion of Iran-Russia technological cooperation could lead to the progress of the two countries in different areas.

Fursenko for his part pointed to the need for the two countries to gain access to the know-how of the designing and production of agricultural, industrial and medical equipment and stated that the Iranian and Russian knowledge-based companies should strengthen their cooperation in order to achieve this goal.
